New Rattitude, Inc.

New Rattitude is a national, all-volunteer non-profit rescue/adoption agency whose mission is to rescue Rat Terriers (and mixes that are predominantly Rat Terrier) from imminent death at animal shelters, the streets, abusive/neglectful homes, or from owners who can no longer keep a dog, and to rehome the dogs into new and permanent, screened and approved adoptive homes. Each dog rescued is cared for in a safe and nurturing foster care environment where he or she receives appropriate medical care, a high quality diet, training and socialization. To achieve these ends, the organization is involved with transportation, volunteer recruiting and training, mentoring, fund-raising, and establishing and maintaining other programs deemed helpful to achieving the mission of rescuing and re-homing Rat Terriers.

Meet Cedar (WA)

If you are looking for a total love bug, Cedar is your perfect girl. Weighing close to 15 lbs., 9-year-old Cedar enjoys snuggling with her people, napping in the sun, and exploring her fenced backyard. She's crate-trained but also loves to burrow under blankets and sleep close to her person in bed. She greets the day with requests for tummy rubs and happy bounces when it's time for breakfast. Cedar is 100% house-trained. In Cedar's past, she had limited experiences or positive interactions with humans, so she is very shy and skittish. But she's treat-motivated and warms up pretty quickly with some patience and gentleness, especially if she's in an environment where she feels safe. She does prefer women to men, and her primary person should be a woman. She has not minded attending her foster-grandparents' family dinners, and low-key dinner parties in her own home. As long as her primary person is nearby, and people take it slow with her, she does just fine.  In her own yard, she's a happy, exploring girl. She likes running around with her foster siblings and barking at wildlife. She startles easily, so she prefers her out-of-yard walks be in a quiet environment. This girl is just a bit of a homebody, though that circle can certainly expand with care.   Cedar gets along great with her foster siblings. She likes and is comforted by her dog friends and does not mind cats at all. She doesn't really understand play, but she never has an unkind word for anybody. Cedar has a wonderful, sweet personality, is a low-maintenance dog, and has been a joy to her foster family. See more photos of this sweet girl at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/cedar .
