Meet Dottie
FUN, FRIENDLY & ACTIVE: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 29 lbs. Hi, I’m Dottie! I found myself at animal control very sick and in need of gaining some weight, so they started my care and Mostly Mutts has finished it! I’m well now, have gained the weight I needed and I’m ready to find my new home with a great family! I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program where I had a great time and learned a lot, too! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and in the prison/foster training program. I growled at first and had a vocal style of play. Then I went to a home for a day and 2 dogs were very rough with me, so I have become reactive with other dogs now. For this reason, I should not live with other dogs. / I was friendly with the two confident, dog-savvy cats in my temp. foster home. My foster said she thought timid cats may be overwhelmed by me, and that I may be prone to chasing, but if you have dog-friendly cats at home, let’s meet. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them, I was just a bit mouthy with them, so kids 15+ would be a better match for me. Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I got my name from my cute spots which everyone says are adorable. The volunteers describe me as super sweet, playful, friendly, energetic, happy-natured and a little jumpy. I was a good girl for my bath and even lifted each foot for cleaning which I think is quite smart of me. My temp. foster said I’m “incredibly smart” and “eager to learn.” / I have a higher energy level of 7 - 8, so I’ll want regular exercise with my new family. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I expect to be a Mostly Mutts University graduate very soon! So far, I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘stay’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands and I know how to shake hands too. I also use proper door etiquette and accept friendly strangers without jumping. I am doing pretty well using a ‘gentle leader’ leash on my walks with treats along the walk and using the ‘leave it’ command when I pass other dogs. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. I whined a bit in my temp. foster home, but then settled in and slept through the night. / My potty habits were good on the prison/foster training program schedule and in my temporary foster home, going outside 4-6 times throughout the day. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love attention, treats, playing with toys and snuggling. I also like doing doggie puzzles. I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things that we will enjoy doing together. / I can’t think of any dislikes yet, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family to love! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.
Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.
