Meet Cashmere

‘FABRIC’ THEMED MOMMA:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 25 lbs. Hello, I’m Cashmere – sweet momma to the Fabric themed puppies!  I was at animal control – heartworm positive and nursing my pups when Mostly Mutts was able to rescue all of us!  I’m so grateful that I was then able to finish raising my puppies in a wonderful foster home and that my heartworms will be treated, as well.  Yippee!  Now it’s my time to find a wonderful new family to love! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  My foster says I love the company of the other dogs in my foster home, as I play well with them and understand when space is needed.  I also met dogs at Mostly Mutts and did fine with them – I didn’t play, but likely just needed a little time to get to know them.  I think I’d enjoy having a doggie friend in my new home, so if you have a nice dog already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / I’ve shown no interest in the cat that lives in my foster home and do not engage with them at all, so I could probably live just fine with a dog-friendly (or dog-tolerant) kitty.  Let’s meet! / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no very young kids as I wouldn’t want to bump them over.     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet, friendly and loving ‘people dog’ who is playful and affectionate.  I’ll impress you with my ‘smarts’ and how much I relish interacting with people and other dogs.  Basically, I am ‘an absolute sweetheart’ of a dog – ready for the good life in my new home! / My energy level is 6-8, so let’s go have some fun together!   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  My foster has been working with me on several doggie commands.  I know ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘shake paw’, and the word "no".  Right now, I am working on "four-on-the-floor" and on coming when called.  Such a smart girl, I am! / It is never my idea to go to my crate and will place my paws firmly and back away.  I just prefer being with my people. I cry when crated, so a condo or apartment environment would not be a good fit for me. / My foster has me on a good potty schedule and says that I like to walk for about 30 minutes before going potty. I’ve not yet learned to signal when I need to go out, so a good, consistent schedule is the way to go with me.  A late evening walk is important to avoid an overnight accident.  My foster rewards me with a treat and the signal word ‘yes’ when I potty – trying to teach me to alert when I need to go potty.     • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I absolutely love long walks and have a blast hiking the trails at Kennesaw Mountain. If you are looking for a hiking buddy, I’m your girl!  I enjoy being outside in the yard - but hang with me, as I will dig for critters (chipmunks, garden snakes, etc.) and am adept in my foster home at getting through the rails of a fence if I’m not monitored. I also enjoy playing fetch and am learning to bring the ball back for continued play.  Nylabones are great and needed, as I am quite an enthusiastic chewer.  Belly and chin rubs, as well as ear scratches, are at the top of my list too. / I don’t like to be away from my people, so a stay-at-home or work-from home family member would be a great fit for me.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  Unfortunately, my previous owner did not keep me on a monthly heartworm preventative, so I am heartworm positive.  Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of my treatment with their vet, so local adoption only, please. I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
