Meet Lena
A LOVING LITTLE FRIEND: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 12 lbs. Hi, my name is Lena! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control and I’m happy to be on the journey to my new home. I came in with very overgrown hair and I was pretty shut down and upset, but thankfully I went into a great foster home, where after only a few days, I became much more relaxed and very happy! I look forward to meeting my new family soon – one that will give me some time to feel at home. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I have done very well with the dogs in my foster home, and I play with them if they initiate play. My foster feels I would really benefit from having the company of a doggie friend in my new home as I don’t really enjoy being alone, so let’s meet. / Cats unknown. / I’ve met some kids in my foster home, and we think kids 10 years and older would be best as I need a little time to get to know people and kids need to be able to understand this and give me that time, so if you have kids like this, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: My foster describes me as ‘a very sweet dog’ who just needs time to adjust to new situations. Just as at the shelter, I started out in my foster home very scared and shut down. After a few days (and a fresh, desperately needed haircut), I have settled in, opened up and shown my loving side – giving and accepting affection from everyone in my foster family! They have learned that I’m the kind of little dog that will need time to settle in and trust, so I should meet strangers on a leash, and they should wait and let me approach them, not the other way around. My foster has lots of experience with dogs and will be happy to talk with you. / My energy level is 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am familiar with the ‘no’ command in my foster home and respond well to it. I bet you can teach me some more great doggie commands as well. / I do not like being in a crate and will bark in protest. However, I do well in my foster home when I’m left in the kitchen with another dog. / I’ve done well on a good take-out schedule and with potty pads being available. Keep me on a good schedule with rewards for when I go outside and I think I’ll do well in your home, too! • LIKES/DISLIKES: I am happiest when I am with my people or hanging out with the other dogs in my foster home. I enjoy my walks and walk well on my leash, so let’s take some fun walks together. I love people food and will beg for it, but don’t give in to me too often, as it is not good for me. / I don’t like to be alone and relish the company of people or other doggies. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving family for life! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.
Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.
