Meet MR. COLEMAN (Fabulous Lab/Shep/Hound -Help ASAP!)
Meet Wonderful COLEMAN - Black Lab/Hound/Shephard Mix Needs a FOSTER OR HOME ASAP! COLEMAN is a young, estimated two-year old, guy with wonderful traits who needs a home, as he is in danger of heading to a shelter! Coleman was abandoned and starving and seen going through neighborhood trash in southwest Atlanta to survive. He took up residence on the porch of a kind lady who took him in. He had a bad ear infection caused by allergies, and painful hematomas in both ears since he was scratching so hard! He was also diagnosed with a dry eye condition. The ear infection is cured (thank goodness!), and both allergies and dry eye are being treated easily! He's doing great! COLEMAN is very smart, so happy and playful, fully vetted, heartworm negative and on prevention, and ready for a REAL home! He is learning to walk well on a leash, super smart guy, can open some gates, and listens well, rides well in a car, loves toys; HE IS PERFECTLY HOUSETRAINED! Coleman is Friendly to all people, was fostered with a tiny child, quiet (rarely barks), likes other large dogs, submissive to them, playful, rides well in a car, and so sweet! Likes to play with larger dogs, but not small ones (cannot figure out what they are), thus no small dogs or cats. We would love to see him go to a home with a female or male companion to play with and a fenced yard to play in! But he would be fine as an only dog and is quiet ENOUGH for an apartment short-term foster. His allergies are easily treated with inexpensive meds. For dry disease he will need drops or ointment, but that can be well managed, as well. The rescue will pay for prescription meds for a six months to make it easy. This fantastic dog is worth it! You will LOVE this boy! Contact AWHAR: [email protected] for an application (preferred). or text Janet at 404-520-1060 cell our website: www.awhar.org
Adoption Process
First there is an application, then the meeting, then the animal is brought to its potential new home, then there is a foster/trial period, after a month or so we make the final adoption. Fees may vary, but the standard is $275 for dogs and the standard is $125 for cats. All animals are fully vetted and up to date on shots at adoption. If at anytime and for any reason, the animal is not working in the new household, we will take them back.
