Meet Ada
A SUPER SWEET FRIEND: Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 42 lbs. Hi there, I’m Ada! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control along with my sister Agnes. I don’t recall how we ended up there, but we’re both thankful for this new chance of finding a furever home! We don’t have to be adopted together, as we are doing well in separate foster homes, but if you’re looking for 2 dogs, please consider us together. I came in heartworm positive, but I'll be treated for that soon and I hope to be with my new family before treatment starts. I needed bloodwork done before my spay surgery and I've had that thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I like the mid-size adult female dog in my foster home, and I get along great with my sister and did well with the other dogs I recently met at Mostly Mutts, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a total sweetheart who just wants to love and be loved! I came in a little timid, but that passed and now I happily shower the volunteers with kisses and soak up every chest scratch and ear rub you’re willing to give — ahh, that’s the best! Even bath time felt good to me, and I couldn’t help but lean into the shampoo massage with a little happy sigh. I’m gentle, affectionate, and friendly, with just enough pep in my step to keep life fun. At heart, I’m a sweetie pie who simply longs to be close to my people. / Energy level: 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I know the ‘sit’ command, and you can teach me some more as you absolutely CAN teach an older dog new tricks! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. In my foster home, I prefer to sleep in the bed with my foster. / I’ve had very good potty manners on the shelter schedule and do well when crated while my foster is away. I did have one or two accidents when left out while my foster was away. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I absolutely love soaking up affection from the nice volunteers, especially when they give me chest scratches and those oh-so-perfect ear rubs! In my foster home, I enjoy cuddling on the couch and chewing on a Nylabone. I was wary of the stairs at first, but have gotten used to them as time has gone on. I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we will like doing together, too. / Nothing comes to mind in the dislikes section, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I take an inexpensive over-the-counter Cosequin joint supplement that is good for all older dogs. I’m getting a few more medicated baths and these can easily be done in my new home. Sadly, I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, so I'm HW positive. The good news is that I'll be treated for that in mid-October and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with their vet, so local adoption please. I hope to be with my family before treatment starts! I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I’m a wonderful gal looking for a wonderful family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.
Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.
