Meet Britta
LOOKING FOR MY PERSON: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 33 lbs. & needs to gain a bit more weight Hello, my name is Britta! I came to the Mostly Mutts family from animal control. I was very scared and timid when I arrived, so the volunteers took their time with me and allowed me the space I needed to feel safe. Soon, I went to a great foster home, where I have been loving life and have established trust with my person there. My foster has learned a lot about me and has also worked with a Mostly Mutts trainer and I’ve come a long way. They will be happy to talk with you and share my successes and what works best for me. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met dogs at Mostly Mutts and showed my teeth and growled at them, so I do not want to live with another dog. / I’ve not met cats, but I demonstrate a strong prey drive, so no cats please. / I haven’t met kids yet and I am quite skittish around new people in general, so I think older kids such as calm teens may be a fit for me – of course we would want to meet and see how we do together. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: My foster describes me as ‘one of the sweetest, gentlest dogs you could ever meet’. However, I’m very skittish around people. My foster had a friend come visit, and it took me two weeks to accept affection from them, such as some nice petting. I have become less reactive with people, but I do still bark and growl defensively if someone I don’t know enters the house or yard. I would likely do best with a dog savvy owner or two that I can bond with and call ‘my people’. I am not an apartment/condo type dog. I love running and jumping in my foster’s yard and my foster thinks I would be great as an agility dog. Let’s build a course in our backyard and get going on my training! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: My foster is working with a trainer and can verify the fact that I am very smart and that my command training has been easy. So far, I’ve learned the ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ commands, and I have good door etiquette. I’m currently working on the ‘down’ and ‘give paw’ commands. / I do NOT like being in a crate and tore up a sleeping pad when my foster left me in there. The good news is that I haven’t needed to be crated in my foster home, as I’ve done fine with having the run of the house and haven’t destroyed anything. At bedtime in my foster home, I usually start out sleeping on the sofa but often end up at the foot of my foster’s bed. / My potty habits have been very good in my foster home. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy being near my person though I am not cuddly. I love my outside time in my foster’s large, fenced yard. I leap around the yard like a gazelle at lightning speed a couple times a day and then I enjoy lounging in the yard while I stay alert to furry intruders. I’ll keep the yard critter-free for you! Having a secure fence in my new home is an absolute must for me, as I will want to spend a good bit of time outside with my person – my ‘happy place’. I like to meander while on my walks and will often stop to stare down squirrels, etc. My foster has discovered that I will often move forward if you tap me on the shoulder, but if I want to hang out somewhere, you need something to read while waiting on me – lol. I enjoy Nylabones, other chew bones, and tummy rubs, too! For occasional treats I like doggie chicken jerky and a homemade air fried Liverwurst snack that my foster makes. / I’m not a dog that would be happy spending most of my time indoors, so having the opportunity for frequent ‘yard time’ visits would make my day. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a great home with patient and dog-savvy owners as I am not a first-time kind of dog! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.

The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets.
