Meet Ritzy

A SWEET LITTLE LAP DOG:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 10 lbs. Hi, my name is Ritzy!  I found myself in need of help when I was very pregnant and had a lot of hair loss – likely due to neglect.  I worked my way to Mostly Mutts, where I gave birth to and raised my babies in a wonderful foster home.  Now, with my mothering days behind me for good – it is time for me to find a home of my very own!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  As a good momma, I was unsure and a bit afraid of other dogs in my foster home, as I wanted to protect my babies.  I’ve since met dogs at Mostly Mutts and wasn’t really interested in interacting with them, but I also didn’t show any aggression, so if you have a nice calm doggie at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I’m a fairly reserved girl, who will choose my person and the commotion of younger children will not be a good fit for me.  I think I’d do best in a home with older calm kids (15+), and of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My former foster says that – true to my breed – I am a typical chihuahua who  will take my time to warm up, but once I know and love you, you are my angel and I’ll love you to death. I am happiest when I’m with my chosen person.  Being a lap dog is my calling, for sure!  With strangers, I will try to come off tough - barking and challenging them, but if you stand your ground, I did back down in my foster home. I’m pretty much scared of everything at first, so a nice calm home is my desire. / My energy level is 2 - 4. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m pretty food-motivated, so I will likely learn quickly with yummy treats involved - lol.  / I did well in my little ‘bathroom condo’ in my former foster home with pee pads, and my potty habits have been pretty good since coming back to the shelter as well.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can fully master my potty skills in my new home. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE being in my person’s lap and deserve to be spoiled.  A bit shy at first (give me 24 hours), that quickly melts away once I know you love me, so make room for me on your lap, please. A nice quiet type of home would be wonderful for me!  / I’m blustery with strangers at first, but – ignore me and I’ll likely calm down, like I did in my foster home.  Loud noises startle me at the shelter, even outside noises, so keep a good hold of my leash as I don’t want to get lost or hurt. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I need a dental cleaning and maybe a few teeth pulled. If I’m adopted before that cleaning, Mostly Mutts will cover the cost with their vet, so local adoption please. I am looking for a great home with my special person to spoil me – someone to love and be loved by!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following: Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility.
