Meet Bella

A SWEET & BEAUTIFUL GIRL:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 12 lbs.   Hi, my name is Bella!  I had a lifelong home, but my family’s situation changed, and they are no longer able to keep me, so Mostly Mutts is helping me find a new family to love and be loved by.  I was adopted for a few weeks, but we all realized that I need family members that are home most of the time as that’s what I’ve had since I was a puppy. I did not do well with my family members working away from home.  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and I did alright with them, but in the prison/foster training program I was more comfortable with them outside than inside.  I lived with another dog in my original home, and they also reported that I was good with other dogs in general but should be fed separately.  If you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / My original family reported that I did well with kids in my home, but I don’t remember their ages, so best no toddlers that may fall on me and let’s meet!  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet and playful girl with a friendly nature who is looking for her match!  A people dog, I don’t like being left alone and become very anxious when without my human company.  I will follow you around and I do get up under your feet, making me a tripping hazard.  I would be happiest in a home where a work from home/stay at home family member is able to provide the companionship I crave. In the prison/foster training program I liked to find a place to hide - under the bed was my "safe " place. / My energy level was higher such as 6 - 7 in my two homes, but it’s a little lower at the shelter since my return – likely because I’m a bit nervous here and there have been a lot of changes for me lately.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘down’, ‘leave it’, ‘drop it’, and ‘place’ commands. I also used proper door etiquette in the prison/foster training program as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I look forward to learning more!  In my temp. home I did try to bolt through doors/gates, so just be cautious of that and Mostly Mutts will be glad to help you with that. / I do well in my crate at the prison/foster training program. / I have good potty habits in the prison/foster training program on a good schedule.  My trainer has discovered that I have accidents when my person leaves as I tend to get anxious when alone.  Everything is also new to me, and I tend to drink a lot of water right now, so I hope my potty habits will continue to improve with time. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play and run around in the yard with my people, so a fenced yard where we can hang out together would be great in my new home. I love my family and just hanging out together.  Walks are also great and give me some good exercise.  When I see the leash come out, I get super excited, and become more outgoing.  While inside, I’m learning to play by myself and enjoying that as well.  / I don’t like being alone and may need time to adjust to new places.  I was also wary and skittish when meeting men in my temp. home – not aggressive, just barky and a little anxious.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I just had a dental cleaning, so my teeth are nice and healthy.  I also just started a medication (Fluoxetine) for the separation anxiety that I experienced in my temp. home to see if it helps, just ask about this.     If you’re looking for a great little companion, I could be the one!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
