Welcome Maxie!Maxie is a 6 year old female ShihTzu mix weighing 11 pounds. Little Maxie has been through a lot in a short time! Abandoned at a metro Atlanta animal shelter, she was mercifully rescued from euthanasia by kind strangers. Maxie is understandably shy and takes time to feel safe. She comes to Homeward after a month in a rescuers foster home where she made great progress in trusting. Maxie needs a quiet home where she gets a lot of reassurance and human contact. Maxie gets along well with other dogs and would love a small friend to lean on. She walks well on a leash, she is house trained and loves stuffy and squeaky toys, but she is afraid of balls ♀️. Must be 21 to adopt. $180 adoptions fee for dogs and $125 for cats, must complete an application and an interview
