Meet Snuffy

AN ADORABLE, OLDER GUY:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 23 lbs.    Hi there!  My name is Snuffy!  I had a home, but sadly, my owner passed away.  I made my way to Mostly Mutts where I am getting lots of love and attention in a wonderful foster home while I wait for my new family to find me so I can happily live out my golden years.   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I get along fine with the dog in my foster home, but I don’t want to play with her.  I just go about doing my own thing.  So, if you have a nice calmer-type dog already, let’s meet! / I did chase the kitty in my short break foster home a few times, but - after we spent time together, we did fine. If you have a dog-friendly (or dog- tolerant) kitty at home, let’s meet in a slow, supervised introduction and see if we can be pals. / I was calm and playful with the kids in my short break foster home (ages 3, 5, and 12), so children in my new home may be nice.  Best no toddlers that may fall on me and – of course, let’s meet!     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a calm, older fellow with the sweetest and most gentle demeanor.  I have a playful side, too, so I look forward to fun times with my new family!  An affectionate ‘people’ dog, I’d benefit from a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member as I don’t enjoy being without my people. I was a great little guy for my bath and brushing when I arrived at Mostly Mutts too.  When my back is itchy, I do this thing where I back under the bed a little and use the bed frame to scratch.  My foster family thinks it’s pretty adorable and that I’m really smart.  My foster mom says I’m “super calm, happy and loving!”  / My energy level is 3-5.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know a few commands: ‘come’, ‘sit’ and ‘lay’.  I bet you can teach me even more! / Though I’m good in my little room at the shelter, I don’t  like the crate in my foster home, so I barked and whimpered my protest when they left me there to head out, so condo or apartment living would not be a good fit for me.  I don’t need to be crated at night in my foster home as I sleep quietly all night in a dog bed next to my foster parents.  It’s necessary when you leave me during the day though, as I got into some things and chewed some blinds when they were gone. / My potty manners are good in my foster home and I do my business quickly outside. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I absolutely love being with my people and enjoy short walks with them.  I’m good in the car, so perhaps we can find some nice places for our strolls.  I look forward to playtime and really enjoy squeaky toys.  I soak up all the affection that comes my way – especially scratches on my back just above my tail. I also enjoy peanut butter treats and watermelon! / I don’t like thunderstorms, being away from my people, or being in a crate. I’m also sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention in my golden years.   • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I have some ‘old man’ lumps and bumps which have been checked out by the vet – I think they just add to my charm.  I also have some arthritis in my hips, so a daily over the counter Cosequin tablet helps keep my joints feeling their best.  I had a dental cleaning recently with 14 extractions, so I don’t have too many teeth left, but I am doing well and my mouth feels so much better! I am looking for a great furever home where I can spend my senior years surrounded by love!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following: Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility.
