My name is Lois Vassilion and I moved to this impoverished area of SE Ga. 15 years ago. My main profession is a Critical Care Nurse. When my husband and I got here, we discovered there were no animal services in the county and abandoned pets everywhere. We started BARC at that time to provide health services to these pets and a home.

Meet CRICKET

BARC introduces CRICKET to rescue. This 12 week old plot hound puppy was a beloved pet of an elderly lady. Her owner became ill and refused to receive medical help until Cricket had a safe place. We somehow made room and this lady is presently in the hospital and probably not able to return home. This is bittersweet that Cricket is safe but now needs a forever home. She is playful, affectionate and does well with other pets. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed. All she needs is a forever person and home. Adoption Process
The person must fill out an online application and be approved. They sign a contract and are given a copy of the health record. Our adoption fees range from $100-$350 depending on the adoptability of the pet.
