Barkville Dog Rescue

BarkVille Dog Rescue, formerly known as BarkTown Dog Rescue & Sanctuary, is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization committed to saving dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. We are a non-breed specific rescue, and we do not exclude dogs due to extensive medical needs. Our goal is to save dogs in the most need of rescue assistance, including older dogs, medically challenged dogs, and PitBull Terrier type dogs. We work with our friends and donors to raise the funds necessary to provide life-saving treatments for the dogs we rescue and to identify the best foster situations for the dogs in our care.Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment needed prior to adoption. Our dogs are then placed in a nurturing foster home while they await placement into their permanent home. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of our dogs beyond the adoption process. Our goal is to help dogs in distress without regard to age, breed, size, or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority. Our cost to provide basic veterinary care to a dog is about $300 and covers all necessary vaccines, spay/neuter and microchip. If the dog tests positive for Heartworm disease (as many of our GA stray dogs do), the additional cost to treat heartworms is approximately $500-$600. For dogs with injuries requiring specialized treatment and/or surgery, costs can easily increase into the thousands. When BarkVille becomes aware of a dog in need, we immediately get to work posting the dog on our social media platforms and networking with our internet friends & partners to make people aware of the dog’s situation. We raise funds and solicit for fosters, and once we have both, we transport the dog to one our partner vets as quickly as possible. We strive to work with area shelters and other rescue groups to develop a network of supporters and volunteers to create a better world for homeless dogs.

Meet Stella Cobb

Meet Stella - Your Loyal Gentle Girl Stella is the kind of dog who leaves pawprints on your heart the moment you meet her. This stunning one-year-old Cane Corso was found as a lost girl on 5/5, and despite her sweet nature and beautiful soul, no one came looking for her. But maybe... just maybe, that's because she was meant to find you. Weighing in at 54 lbs, Stella is the perfect blend of strength and softness. She's the kind of pup who turns heads with her looks and wins hearts with her personality. She's gentle, affectionate, and well-behaved. Stella knows her manners and is proud to show off her skills with commands like "sit," "down," and "stay." She's also treat-motivated and eager to learn more, especially when there's a tasty reward involved! Stella got a pair of cherry eyes. This is a very common condition and can be corrected with a simple surgery, which will be covered by Barkville. It would be wonderful to find a foster or adopter for her willing to let this beautiful girl recover at home, surrounded by a family. Would you be her hero? She is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and ready for her next chapter - a forever home filled with love, snuggles, and someone to believe in her. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and a loving presence, Stella is your girl. Come meet her and see why everyone who meets her falls in love. If you're interested in adopting, please email us at [email protected] or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.

Adoption Process
All of our dog posted for adoption are fully vetted which includes: Age appropriate vaccines (DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella), spay/neutered/microchipped. All adopters must complete an application, reference checks, and home check. Adoption fee is $300.00. Senior dogs are $250.00.
