New Rattitude, Inc.

New Rattitude is a national, all-volunteer non-profit rescue/adoption agency whose mission is to rescue Rat Terriers (and mixes that are predominantly Rat Terrier) from imminent death at animal shelters, the streets, abusive/neglectful homes, or from owners who can no longer keep a dog, and to rehome the dogs into new and permanent, screened and approved adoptive homes. Each dog rescued is cared for in a safe and nurturing foster care environment where he or she receives appropriate medical care, a high quality diet, training and socialization. To achieve these ends, the organization is involved with transportation, volunteer recruiting and training, mentoring, fund-raising, and establishing and maintaining other programs deemed helpful to achieving the mission of rescuing and re-homing Rat Terriers.

Meet Tulip (NC)

Tulip is 2 years-old, 8 lbs., and just a little bundle of joy! She gets along great with the other small dogs in her foster home, and enjoys sniffing around the fenced yard, sitting on the back of the couch looking out the window, and hanging out in the kitchen getting crunchy veggie snacks while her foster mom cooks. Tulip is a lap dog at heart, she will steal a lap any chance she gets! House-training is still a work-in-progress, but she is improving daily. Tulip does walk on a leash, but she gets very distracted, and busy areas frighten her a bit. Tulip will require a securely fenced yard so she can develop a routine for going outside to go potty.  She is crate-trained and sleeps through the night without a peep, although she would rather snuggle with you in bed!    Tulip came from a home with small children and larger dogs, and the busy environment was overwhelming for her. She is now thriving in a quieter home with smaller dogs. Tulip would love at least one small canine companion in her new home. Tulip is a loving little girl, who is very smart and eager to please her humans. She is also very food motivated, which makes her easy to train! If you have some training experience and you're looking to add a beautiful, affectionate, and sweet little girl to your home, then please apply!
