Meet Maggy
A FUN-NATURED FRIEND: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 45 lbs. Hi, my name is Maggy! I had a home, but I was a bit too energetic for my older owner. I’m happy that Mostly Mutts was able to take me in and is going to help me find a home that is a great match for me. Come meet me soon and see if we are meant for each other. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met another dog about my size at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a dog at home already let’s meet! I have not lived with another dog so I’m not sure if I will share toys/treats with them. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, but my former owner reported I had some guarding behaviors (nipping when an item was taken from my mouth, though I’ve not exhibited this at Mostly Mutts). Older kids such as 15+ that can follow the guidelines established for me are recommended in case that guarding behavior surfaces. Trading an item for the item in my mouth is a good strategy. I did seem to enjoy the kids who came to read to me at the shelter. Though I did not interact with them out of my kennel, I wagged my tail enthusiastically and was happy to be in their company. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m very sweet and super cute! I have a playful nature and am friendly with everyone I’ve met at Mostly Mutts. I’m a people dog and will relish all the attention that comes my way. Affectionate and fun, I am ready to be a great companion to a lucky family! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great commands with my trainer. So far, I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, down’, come’ and ‘stay’ commands. I also greet friendly strangers without jumping. In my former home, I had a tendency to resource guard and nipped my former owner’s hand when she took something out of my mouth. One of our trainers is currently working with me and would be happy to talk with you. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, and my former owner said I did well in my crate in my previous home, too. / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule, though my previous owner reported that I had good potty manners in the home. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like to collect all the petting I can and am happy to sit with you while you gently pet me. I like toys so let’s have lots of fun together and find other ways to be active together, too. / Other than what’s mentioned above, I’m very afraid of passing cars, so let’s find trails or low traffic areas to take our walks. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a loving home with a great family for life! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.
Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.
