Meet Harrison

A SWEET, SCRUFFY GUY:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 21 lbs.  Hello – I’m Harrison!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  I’ve had a great time in a foster home and now I’m at the Mostly Mutts shelter and it’s time to meet my new family and begin my ‘happily ever after’ with them. I’m looking forward to that! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a dog already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown, however, there were a couple of kitties in my former fosters’ yard, and I did not act aggressive with them, but I did playfully chase them, so I may do alright with kitties. / I’ve not met kids while with Mostly Mutts, but older children (10+) would likely be best in my new home, as I was a bit jumpy and was mouthy with hands and arms when I played in my former foster home.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a friendly guy with a super sweet, quiet (only barking when someone was at the door) and affectionate nature, though not a big lap dog. I have a playful demeanor and am also curious and can get into mischief at times if not supervised closely. With my higher energy, I can get bored, so my former foster found that giving me something to chew on helped with this. I can be a little underfoot in the kitchen, too. I rode well in the car, so we can go on some outings. They say that I am a loyal dog and will be a loving friend to a great family. / My energy level in my foster home was 6-8 and I seem to be a bit more energetic in the evening. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a smart guy who learned the ‘sit’, ‘come’ and ‘stay’ commands in my former foster home, however I would bolt out a door if open, so please be careful around doors and gates.  I also had good leash manners. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts.  I wasn’t crated much in my former foster home, but I did take my toys into the crate so I probably would not mind short periods in the crate in my new home. At nighttime I slept well on the floor rather than on the furniture or in a crate. / My potty manners were good in my former foster home, only having an accident on the first day.  They took me out every few hours during the day and I would let them know if I needed to go out, so hopefully it will be the same in my new home once I know the routine.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love being with people and liked being involved in everything that went on in my former foster home.  Stuffed toys with squeakers are a favorite of mine and I enjoy chew toys as well as dinner time, treats, going for walks, sitting outside on the patio with my people, belly rubs and doing zoomies in the yard. / My foster reports that I don’t like being grabbed by my collar and I can be a little head shy.  I also don’t love being picked up or held, but as I got to know my fosters, I did tolerate that.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m looking for a home where I will be a much-loved member of the family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
