Meet Bryson

A LOVING FRIEND: Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 23 lbs. Hi, I’m Bryson!  I came to Mostly Mutts with a few other dogs after our owner passed away and a lot of dogs were discovered in the home. I had an upper respiratory infection and skin issues that took some time to recover from, as well as serious ear infections that I had clearly had for a long time.  They are being treated and coming along really well (see medical).  I’m ready to find a wonderful family now that will take great care of me and love me forever. · OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with other dogs that I like, but when meeting dogs at Mostly Mutts, I’m unsure about how to play with them and I can be vocal when I see dogs outside.  It’s best the I meet dog’s rear end first so I can’t react to them and mellow dogs will be best.  So, if you have a non-reactive dog that won’t mind me learning how to properly engage with them, let’s meet. / Cats unknown. / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old and liked them but was a little timid with them too, so if you have calm kids around that age or older, let’s meet. · PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I came in initially a bit timed, likely due to all the changes in my life, but I’ve blossomed, and I sure do love people a lot!  I’m described as sweet, friendly, loving and gentle.  I long for attention and to be petted and loved.  I have a cute prance in my step and a happy nature too. I sometimes sing the blues, or maybe for joy since I am a Beagle mix, so best no apartment/condo type home please. / Energy level: 4-6. · SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already learned how to greet friendly strangers without jumping on them and I use proper door etiquette too.  I’m sure you can teach me even more. / I’m doing pretty well in my little room at Mostly Mutts, but I sometimes sing in my room as mentioned above. / I’m doing well with my potty manners on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too. · LIKES/DISLIKES:  I just love spending time with all the nice volunteers that come to take care of me and I’m sure I’ll love being with you too!  Being petted and receiving attention makes me a happy boy and spending some time outside in the yard with the volunteers is nice as well.  I’m sure we’ll find lots of things we like doing together. / I can’t think of any dislikes, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. · MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’ve started on an inexpensive anxiety medication to help with some shelter stress; I may be able to be weaned off once I’m settled in my new home.  My skin and fur are doing great, just a few more medicated baths which can be done at home.  My ear infections are also doing well now, but I will need my family to monitor them, to make sure they stay clear.  I’ve finished the ear medication and just need to have my ears cleaned twice a week.  (MM will go over my ear care with you)  I’m taking an allergy medication called Apoquel and as long as my ears stay clear, I may be able to come off of it. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I’m a great dog that deserves a great family that will love me and take wonderful care of me. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
