Meet Lexington
HANDSOME, SWEET & FUN: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 14 lbs. Hi there, I’m Lexington! I was rescued from animal control and got to spend a little time in a loving foster home, which gave me a chance to rest, learn and have fun. I’m back at Mostly Mutts now and ready for my forever home! I’ve had a glimpse of what it’s like to be part of a family, and I can’t wait to find one of my own. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked the mellow small dogs, but not the larger ones, so if you have a dog like this, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met kids at Mostly Mutts who were around 10 years old, and I liked them, so if you have kids around this age, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m described as a people-loving pup who gets super excited whenever someone comes to say hi — I’ll run right up for pets and give you plenty of kisses to show how happy I am! I’m affectionate and loving, but I also like my quiet time and will happily chill on my bed when I need a break. I’m not a big barker, which everyone seems to appreciate, and while I can be a little scared and timid at first, I warm up quickly with some kindness and patience. I get fun bursts of energy, zoom around a bit, and then crash into a nice long nap before doing it all over again. Sometimes I get a little bit mouthy when I’m super excited, but I’m just so happy to be with people — and honestly, I’d probably do just about anything for a piece of chicken! / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I do a very nice ‘sit’ and I’m sure you can teach me lots more! / My crate manners were excellent in my temporary foster home, and they are good at Mostly Mutts as well. / My outside potty manners in my temp. foster home were good in the #1 area, though I had a few #2 accidents. At the Mostly Mutts shelter, I’m having a few accidents, so I’ll need a little help finishing up my potty training. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy playing with tennis balls and one of my favorite pastimes is plopping down in the yard to soak up the sun with my family, and I’d be over the moon to have a fenced backyard where I can do just that. I enjoy walks, but I’ll admit — I sometimes lose steam halfway through, so I’m all about balancing playtime with some good rest. I go crazy for chicken, and peanut butter on a lick mat (even though I know I shouldn’t have too much). What can I say? I’ve got great taste! / I haven’t been the biggest fan of dog kibble, but I’m getting better now. Other than that, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family to love! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.
Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.
