Meet Lorelei

'GILMORE GIRLS THEMED MOM': Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 11 lbs. Hi, I’m Lorelei!  I’m one of the many dogs that was thankfully rescued when animal control stepped in and helped us work our way to Mostly Mutts!  I was saved from terrible conditions where we were not taken care of and were allowed to breed freely.  I came in pregnant and went into a wonderful foster home where I raised my puppies and now I’m ready to find a wonderful family of my own!  I’ve been in several foster homes, and they all loved me and reported the information below about me. I also came in heartworm positive due to the neglect, but I'll be treated for that soon!  I’m looking forward to living a wonderful life in a loving home – perhaps with you? ·   OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have gotten along well with the dogs in my foster homes – running zoomies with the younger ones and picking up on the social cues to ignore the older grumpy ones – lol.  I think I’d love another playful dog in my new home, to pal around with so, if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / There were cats in one of my foster homes and I simply ignored them. / I was wonderful with the kids in my foster homes, so if you have children old enough to gently handle a small dog, let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me.  I do get excited when I play and can be a little mouthy and jumpy.    ·   PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a very outgoing, trusting and a curious girl who wakes up ready to find a toy and play fetch.  My fosters say I am ‘just as sweet as they come’ without a mean bone in my body.  Quite social and loving, I am a great little lap dog.  I follow my nose when my curiosity kicks in, which can lead me into mischief, though my fosters do a great job of keeping things picked up and offering me lots to do- appropriate toys and such to keep me busy.  I’m a happy and good-natured girl!  Equal parts ‘energetic’ and ‘mellow’, you are sure to fall in love with my fun and playful personality. / My energy level is 5-7 with little bursts of energy. ·   SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I have learned the ‘sit’ command and I listen well and respond to ‘no’ and ‘get down’ – which is good, because I am learning to stay off of the table - lol.  As for other commands, I am treat-motivated, so I bet you can teach me a lot as I’m a pretty smart girl who seems eager to please and I love treats. / I’m not a big fan of the crate, as I would rather be with people.  I sleep through the night when with them, so maybe you will allow that, too. / I am still learning my potty manners, but I am doing well on a good take out schedule and seem to be learning cues from the other dogs in my foster homes.  I also seem to be pad trained, as I use those successfully when my foster has to leave me for work.  I should master my potty skills with time and consistency. ·   LIKES/DISLIKES:  I absolutely love EVERYTHING!  My dog toys – especially stuffed toys that squeak are my favorites, and I will play fetch as long as you wish to do so.  Exploring in the yard and running zoomies with my fur friends is great fun, too.  One day, I’m gonna catch a squirrel or chipmunk!  When I am ready to chill, I will find the first available lap for some nice cuddling and relaxation.  You don’t have to call me twice for dinner, as I love my food and treats, and I enjoy car rides too, so you can take me places with you! / The TV startled me in one of my foster homes, so I barked and shook, but I bet I’ll get used to it with your help.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. ·   MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  Sadly, I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, so I'm HW positive. The good news is that I'll be treated for that in late July and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with their vet, so local adoption please.  I hope to be with my family before treatment starts! I am looking for  wonderful home with a loving family!   My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
