Meet Cyrus

A SWEET LITTLE FRIEND:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 16 lbs. Hi, I’m Cyrus!  I came to Mostly Mutts with a few other dogs after our owner passed away and a lot of dogs were discovered in the home.  We all had terrible upper respiratory infections and skin issues that took some time to recover from, but we recovered and now it’s time for us to find new homes with great families that will take good care of us and love us forever. I came in initially a little scared, likely due to all the life changes, but I’ve blossomed and love people a lot.   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I formerly lived with a lot of dogs that I liked, and I met some dogs at Mostly Mutts and though I wasn’t quite ready to play with them, I also did not show any aggression, so if you have a dog, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.         • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Due to my former circumstances, I came in pretty timid and shy, but now that I’ve seen all that life has to offer, I’m blossoming very well!  The volunteers describe me as a sweetheart who is friendly and a great dog that enjoys affection. I can still be timid about new things but just give me a little time and I’m sure we’ll do well together! / My energy level is currently 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I’ve learned the ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ commands, and I greet friendly strangers without jumping on them. Check back soon to see what else I’ve learned. / I’ve been experiencing some kennel stress.  The volunteers fitted me for a calming collar, and I’ve just started an inexpensive anxiety medication to help with this. / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule and sometimes tinkle when I am nervous.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like to spend time with the volunteers both inside and in the play yard, so a nice, fenced yard where we can hang out together would be great in my new home.  A nice Nylabone is a favorite treat of mine and I’m sure we’ll find lots of other toys I like and things we like doing together. / I am settling in nicely at the shelter, but – just as I needed time to warm up there, I may need a little extra time in my new home, so I would not want to be rushed.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m still getting an oatmeal bath once a week and this can be done in my new home. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I’ve started on an inexpensive anxiety medication to help with some shelter/kennel stress; I’ll likely be able to wean off of it once I’m settled in my new home.  I am looking for a home where I will be a much-loved family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following: Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility.
