Meet BUDDY

Two-year-old Buddy was given up because his owner is ill and doesn't have the energy to keep up with Buddy's spirited, out-going personality. Buddy is an amazing fellow, who is potty-trained, is very attentive and loves to cuddle. So be prepared to share the couch or maybe even your bed with him. He knows a few basic commands, especially if a yummy treat is involved. He comes when you call him and appears to get along with other dogs, but a meet and greet would be recommended. When Buddy arrived at the shelter, he was heartworm positive, but thanks to donations, the shelter was able to treat him for this. So, Buddy will need to take it easy for the next few months - no excessive exercises. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets and is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito. That is why it's important to keep your dog on monthly preventative. It is unknown how Buddy is with kids or cats. But given his sweet personality, we think he would be ok with older kids. Thanks to Dolly's Dream, they have kindly paid his adoption fee. To meet Buddy, visit www.humanebroward.com to complete the pre-adoption application and then stop by the Humane Society of Broward County located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL. If you have questions call 954-989-3977 ext. 6
