Rosalie and Friends

Rosalie and Friends is taking over the 501c3 organization from "Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter" Continuing programs include heartworm treatment sponsorship for dogs adopted through our shelter, a fospice program that places and supports senior shelter animals in a loving home and Major Medical support for cases that cannot be managed by shelter veterinarian. Our logo states "Fospice and Fixer Uppers" We are expanding to take in community animals in need to keep them from going to the shelter. The fospice animals remain under our care and the fixer uppers are placed up for adoption once the medical condition has been properly managed. Previously the fixer uppers were then transported up to a partner shelter in the northeast but we will not offer some of them for adoption locally.

Meet Jelly Roll

Meet Jelly Roll (aka JR) Age: 4 months Breed: Pointer Mix ⚖️ Estimated adult weight: 40–50 lbs Left like roadside litter in rural Alabama, little JR didn’t let that stop him. He waddled straight into the life of a kind-hearted animal lover who knew this scrappy sweetheart deserved better—and now he’s living his best foster life, waiting for a forever one! ❤️ When JR was rescued, he was all skin and bones with wobbly little front legs from poor nutrition. But thanks to some serious TLC and a never-ending buffet of good meals, he’s now a strong, healthy pup with legs made for zoomies and hearts to melt. Personality Snapshot: Energy level: High (think: puppy zoomies, play bows, and squeaky toys galore!) ️ Cuddle rating: Off the charts. He’s the Velcro-iest of Velcro dogs. ‍ Dog-friendly: Yes! JR LOVES other dogs—ideally ones his size or bigger to romp and wrestle with. Cat-friendly: Mostly yes, though he may engage in an occasional game of “chase the kitty” (we're working on it). Potty Training: Doing great with just a few puppy oopsies here and there. Crate trained: Yep! And he needs one when you're away, or he’ll audition for the role of “tiny house redecorator.” His Dream Home Includes: A fenced yard for daily zoomie sessions Another playful pup (not required, but HIGHLY appreciated) A family that understands puppies are curious, mischievous, and full of love Couch and bed privileges (non-negotiable—he's a world-class snuggler) Older kiddos preferred (he’s a bit bouncy for toddlers) At night, JR curls up with his foster and drifts off like the goodest boy in a pile of blankets. If you're looking for a best friend who brings both wild fun and cozy snuggles, Jelly Roll is ready to roll right into your heart. Included in each adoption: age appropriate shots, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery. Prior to meeting or adopting any of our wonderful animals, we ask that you please fill out our online application: https://form.jotform.com/223268341300041 We are a 100% volunteer organization and have to work other jobs to pay the bills. Please give us up to 48 hours to respond. Submission of an adoption application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee approval. We look forward to hearing from you. We are located in Pensacola, Fl. Local applications considered first, but will consider out of state applications if transport can be arranged. Please note all animals in the home must be altered, up to date on vaccines, and be on heartworm prevention. We understand there are some special cases and will take those into consideration.

Adoption Process
Completion of adoption application followed by online and telephone screening. Home visit and signing of a contract which states animals will be a indoor family pet.
