Rosalie and Friends

Rosalie and Friends is taking over the 501c3 organization from "Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter" Continuing programs include heartworm treatment sponsorship for dogs adopted through our shelter, a fospice program that places and supports senior shelter animals in a loving home and Major Medical support for cases that cannot be managed by shelter veterinarian. Our logo states "Fospice and Fixer Uppers" We are expanding to take in community animals in need to keep them from going to the shelter. The fospice animals remain under our care and the fixer uppers are placed up for adoption once the medical condition has been properly managed. Previously the fixer uppers were then transported up to a partner shelter in the northeast but we will not offer some of them for adoption locally.

Meet Frankfurter

Meet Frankfurter Age: 19 months | Breed: Dachshund mix | Weight: 22 pounds of spicy sausage energy Frankfurter didn’t have the easiest start—he and his brother came from a hoarding situation and ended up at the shelter. His brother has since found a forever home, and now it’s Frankie’s time to shine! He’s got: ✨ The zoomies ✨ A big personality in a little body ✨ A complete disregard for personal space (you've been warned—he will sit on your lap... or head) ✨ A vendetta against hard plastic toys (they never stood a chance) ✨ A dramatic flair for body-blocking other pets to make sure he gets the most snuggles But don’t let his antics fool you—this little guy is the full package: House trained Great in the kennel Loyal and affectionate A professional-level snuggle bug Playful and friendly with dogs once he warms up Frankfurter is looking for a home that loves quirky, cuddly chaos wrapped in a 22-pound sausage casing. Think you're ready for this level of adorable drama? Apply to meet Frankfurter today—he’s ready to steal your snacks and your heart. Included in each adoption: age appropriate shots, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery. Prior to meeting or adopting any of our wonderful animals, we ask that you please fill out our online application: https://form.jotform.com/223268341300041 We are a 100% volunteer organization and have to work other jobs to pay the bills. Please give us up to 48 hours to respond. Submission of an adoption application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee approval. We look forward to hearing from you. We are located in Pensacola, Fl. Local applications considered first, but will consider out of state applications if transport can be arranged. Please note all animals in the home must be altered, up to date on vaccines, and be on heartworm prevention. We understand there are some special cases and will take those into consideration.

Adoption Process
Completion of adoption application followed by online and telephone screening. Home visit and signing of a contract which states animals will be a indoor family pet.
