Meet Ginger

COURTESY POST: My name is Ginger, and I am a lucky girl! A good Samaritan found me post-pregnant and emaciated wandering around their neighborhood in early December. Luckily, they invited me in, fed me, and gave me a warm bed. They considered keeping me, but they already had two forever dogs. They tried to find my owner through a vet checkup, but I was not chipped. For more than a month, they were unsuccessful in finding me a rescue group to take me as all shelters were full, especially around the holidays. Then came the 8-inch snowstorm in NW Florida in January, "crazy, right!?" Once again, they called the shelters to see if there was any room there, and there was not. One shelter even told them to put me back on the street! Thankfully, they kept me through the storm, but were going out of town within a week. Then through the rescue grapevine, I found a temporary foster home.  I am a pitty mix, approximately 7 years young, have a spring in my step, and might have some brindle coloring, but time will tell. I am gaining weight, up to date on my shots, heartworm negative, and spayed. My fur is coming back, and my ribs are disappearing with my weight gain.  I am the BEST snuggler and napper! I do not chew or try to jump or dig under the fence. I am 90% houstrained. We are working on that and walking on a leash. I don't know how I am with other dogs or cats, but I like chasing squirrels. I like them so much that I hop and run at the same time! My favorite spot will be sitting/sleeping beside you! Unless I am eating - I love that too! If you want to give me a chance, please first fill out an application at www.amazinggracebullyrescue.com and then get in touch with my foster mom, Cheryl, at 850-529-3182. Since Ginger is a medium-sized active dog, we recommend a home with a fenced-in backyard and/or daily exercise and socialization plans.
