We are tackling the problem one animal at a time. Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue is a St. Augustine, Florida-based 501(c)(3) supporting adoption, spay and neuter, and responsible care of animals. Along with education, outreach, and adoption and fostering programs, Ayla’s Acres also maintains a 45-acre sanctuary where “unadoptable” animals may live out their lives with peace, love, and dignity.

Meet Pickles

Pickles is a calm and curious pup with a gentle soul. He’s got a quirky (and adorable) way of asking for attention—by softly nibbling your hand (don’t worry, just say “ouch” and he stops). He loves socks, but isn’t destructive, and will happily snuggle on the couch—especially if he gets to be held like a baby!Pickles is a road trip pro, having explored all around Florida. He loves the outdoors, especially hunting for lizards. He’s also a great nighttime watchdog, alerting you if someone’s nearby—never a barker, just a loyal protector.If you’re looking for a laid-back buddy with a playful spark, Pickles is your guy!

Adoption Process
1. Adoption application - requesting background as pet parent, 3 non-family member references and vet reference. 2. If app is approved - Phone interview to understand what type of pet the applicant is looking for. 3. Meet and greet - We facilitate a meet at the applicant's home. 4. If meet goes well - The applicant signs and Adoption Agreement.
