Swamp Haven Rescue, Inc.

We are Swamp Haven and this is our story. Swamp Haven is an animal rescue organization that takes down-on-their-luck dogs and nurtures them back to a healthy mental and physical state, so they can find their forever home. Our goal is simple. We save innocent dogs that have been overlooked by society and provide short-term care including vetting (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and heartworm and flea prevention) and training to learn how to walk politely on a leash, play in a pack and live calmly and lovingly in their new home.It all started a few years back when we made the move from the Pacific Northwest to North Florida. We were surprised to learn how many dogs lose their lives in shelters each month around this area and felt compelled to do something. In the beginning of 2015, we founded Swamp Haven, a 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue organization that survives entirely on donations. Feel free to noodle around our site and learn more about our organization including ways to donate, how you can foster a dog and our adoption process.

Meet KRONK

Kronk and his glorious rolls have been settling in at his foster home, and now he’s ready to find his forever one! Kronk’s foster mom says he’s the best boy ever, eager to play but also happy to be a couch potato. He’s a BIG baby weighing in at roughly 80 pounds but is great with other dogs, and even little kids! Grandma watches him a few times a week and he’s great with her too - he’s happy to match the energy of the room as long as he’s getting some lovins! His ideal home would come with a built in bestie (as long as they don’t come in the feline variety ) but he’d be totally fine being the only dog as long as there’s a doggy play date or two in the works. Kronk was primarily an outside dog that was surrendered to the shelter after his previous family became homeless and it was clear that he fought with skin and allergy issues for years. After months of antibiotics, anti fungal meds, and medicated baths, he is finally on the up and up! His hair is growing back and he feels like the most precious little peach ever If you’re as obsessed with Kronk’s rolls as we are, and you want to show him just how wonderful home life can be, don’t hesitate to reach out! 904-392-3416 Adopt happiness, adopt Kronk

Adoption Process
When you adopt a dog from Swamp Haven, you’re not just saving a life. You’re beginning a journey filled with love, loyalty and trust. Life can be busy and stressful. The companionship of a dog is a constant reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things. At Swamp Haven, our mission isn’t to just help down-on-their-luck dogs find their forever homes. Our mission is to create a lasting relationship with you and your family. At Swamp Haven, our mission isn’t to just help down-on-their-luck dogs find their forever homes. Our mission is to create a lasting relationship with you and your family. Adopt happiness. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, we like to have a phone chat to get a feel for the kind of dog that you’re looking for. Next, we have you fill out a foster application. After that, we come to your house with a carload of dogs for you to choose from and have you foster the dog of your choosing for a week to make sure that it’s a good fit. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun! Our adoption fee is $300.
