Rosalie and Friends

Rosalie and Friends is taking over the 501c3 organization from "Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter" Continuing programs include heartworm treatment sponsorship for dogs adopted through our shelter, a fospice program that places and supports senior shelter animals in a loving home and Major Medical support for cases that cannot be managed by shelter veterinarian. Our logo states "Fospice and Fixer Uppers" We are expanding to take in community animals in need to keep them from going to the shelter. The fospice animals remain under our care and the fixer uppers are placed up for adoption once the medical condition has been properly managed. Previously the fixer uppers were then transported up to a partner shelter in the northeast but we will not offer some of them for adoption locally.

Meet Kitty Wells

Remember the 3 country-themed pups we took in from Baldwin County? When they were found, there were five puppies, but sadly, two were deceased. The remaining three were not in the best of health, but all have recovered and ready for adoption. We think the pups were born right at the end of January. We have no idea on the parentage but possibly see some lab in their makeup. This is Kitty Wells, the smallest of the three. Yep, a pup named “Kitty”. She is outgoing, curious, playful, loves belly rubs, and still has that wonderful puppy breath. She will probably be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. Her coat is starting to transition colors. She came into our rescue as black and white, but now she has some brown markings showing on her legs and face. Kitty is currently eating small meals multiple times a day. Her meals can decrease to three times a day, so her new human(s) will need to be able to provide a mid-day cuisine. Kitty will need at least a semi-active home to exercise out her puppy energy and continuing on into adulthood. She will be easy to train but consistency is key. Another friendly dog, or even a cat, in the home is a bonus but not required. Children are completely acceptable as long as an adult is constantly supervising interaction. Puppies take time, patience, and supervision. It is also a lifelong commitment. Included in each adoption: age appropriate shots, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery. Prior to meeting or adopting any of our wonderful animals, we ask that you please fill out our online application: https://form.jotform.com/223268341300041 We are a 100% volunteer organization and have to work other jobs to pay the bills. Please give us up to 48 hours to respond. Submission of an adoption application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee approval. We look forward to hearing from you. We are located in Pensacola, Fl. Local applications considered first, but will consider out of state applications if transport can be arranged. Please note all animals in the home must be altered, up to date on vaccines, and be on heartworm prevention. We understand there are some special cases and will take those into consideration.

Adoption Process
Completion of adoption application followed by online and telephone screening. Home visit and signing of a contract which states animals will be a indoor family pet.
