Meet PETUNIA
MEET PETUNIA -- ***Located in Mt. Dora, FL*** PETUNIA is 4-5 years old and weighs about 24 lbs. She has a sweet and calm personality and is a total snuggle-bug! She is doing very well in our foster home. Her first Vet appt. for shots and bloodwork was earlier this week, and she received the "good health stamp of approval!" She is scheduled for spay surgery & a chip next week. She is adjusting well to her new environment, LOVES her toys, is eating well and just being wiggly and curious. She likes to sit with you on the sofa - or sleep with you in bed. With reminders, she is 95% housebroken. She seems ok with other dogs - ***Not sure about cats or kids - YET. Her adoption fee of $350 will cover: her full vetting; blood tests, vaccines, spay surgery and her microchip. She would do well as an only dog - as long as her owner isn't gone for long periods of time. AND - we would prefer an owner who is familiar with the maladies of this breed. Adoption fee $350 Interested? Download our application now. www.gratefulpaws.org NOTE: Adoption/rehoming fees are applied towards the vet bill: exam, blood tests, vaccinations, fecal, worming, spay/neuter, dental if necessary, and a microchip. There is rarely anything left over, but if that happens, the monies get applied to the next or previous pet - who may have had to have an x-ray, be groomed or have a dental.
Adoption Process
We are of the belief that there is a perfect home for every homeless pet. We just need the time to find it.
Most of the animals in our care have been rescued, so we ensure their new homes will be better than the last.
We ask every potential adoptee to complete an adoption application. The board reviews each application and the best home for the pet will be chosen. We arrange for a home visit; use a legal and binding adoption contract and charge an adoption fee that is applied towards the vet bill and care of the pet. In most cases the adoption fee does not cover our out -of-pocket costs so we rely upon the help of many to place the animal in its final home.
