Meet Lainey

Lainey is loving every second of learning what home life is all about. Lainey was found as a stray, quite literally skin and bones, and now she won’t ever have to worry about where her next meal is coming from ever again. Instead Lainey spends her days “being a potato” as her foster family likes to say. Lainey LOVES to curl up as tiny as she can and fit on your lap. She has mornings on the porch, peacefully watching the world wake up. She loves all the softest blankets she can find, no hard sleeping spots for her ever again she says! Every time she picks up a new toy she prances around happily with it for five minutes like the proudest dog out there, taking it from room to room and couch to bed to show it off. Lainey is dog, cat, and even chicken friendly. She is quite literally napping with a chicken in one of these pictures. She loves sunbathing, and sticking her houndy nose in allllll the good smelling spots, she may like comfort but don’t get get her wrong, dirt is still very fun! Lainey is estimated 7-8 years old is a petite 45lbs. She is crated trained, and is making huge progress in potty training. There is a very good chance this is Lainey’s first time getting to experience living in a home, and she is not only excelling at learning all the things she is obviously relishing every second of it. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, we like to have a phone chat to get a feel for the kind of dog that you’re looking for. Next, we have you fill out a foster application. After that, we come to your house with a carload of dogs for you to choose from and have you foster the dog of your choosing for a week to make sure that it’s a good fit. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun! Our adoption fee is $300.
