Rosalie and Friends

Rosalie and Friends is taking over the 501c3 organization from "Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter" Continuing programs include heartworm treatment sponsorship for dogs adopted through our shelter, a fospice program that places and supports senior shelter animals in a loving home and Major Medical support for cases that cannot be managed by shelter veterinarian. Our logo states "Fospice and Fixer Uppers" We are expanding to take in community animals in need to keep them from going to the shelter. The fospice animals remain under our care and the fixer uppers are placed up for adoption once the medical condition has been properly managed. Previously the fixer uppers were then transported up to a partner shelter in the northeast but we will not offer some of them for adoption locally.

Meet Giselle

Derpy, lovable, good looks, and did we mention lovable! Perfect combo in our gorgeous Giselle or Mz. G. Mz. G is a 4 year old shepherd mix, looking for her perfect human. She is a sweet, sensitive soul who is loving and looking to please. A perfect home would be one that gives her the attention she craves and continued training that she thrives on. She is very gentle and her love language is physical touch as she loves to give lots of kisses and snuggle with her people. Her emotions can get the best of her when her humans first get home or when company is arriving, but she quickly calms down and can easily be redirected. Who doesn't get excited when someone they love is walking through the door though? She knows basic dog commands like sit and is working on stay. She walks great on a leash and doesn't need much for exercise. A backyard for zoomies is often her favorite playtime but she would not be a good running partner because she had hip surgery when she was 6 months old due to a congenital issue. Surgery was a success in the form of an FHO and it causes no issues now. She gets along well with both cats and dogs and is crate trained. And she even likes those two legged little people. Although due to her occasional excitement level, a home with older kids would be best. Prior to meeting or adopting any of our wonderful animals, we ask that you please fill out our online application: https://form.jotform.com/223268341300041 We are a 100% volunteer organization and have to work other jobs to pay the bills. Please give us up to 48 hours to respond. Submission of an adoption application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee approval. We look forward to hearing from you.

Adoption Process
Completion of adoption application followed by online and telephone screening. Home visit and signing of a contract which states animals will be a indoor family pet.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
