Meet Papi

Little man Papi is a sweet, petite, snuggly lap dog, who has the wide puppy eyes and gives loving tiny kisses. He loves to play with his toys, his fur roommates and exploring outside. Two-year old Papi loves to be with his people and prefers not to be alone for very long. He does whimper lightly when his people leave, but quickly calms. He is so loving that he can be slightly excitable when his people return and will bounce and bark with excitement. Papi can be underfoot when his people come home, so best to watch your step until he's confident you're staying for awhile. He's good with other small dogs and teens in his foster home. He tolerates cats but can sometimes show more interest than a typical kitty may like and will bark in excitement when the kitties get the zoomies or get rambunctious, but will fairly quickly correct with consistent commands. Papi is around 12 lbs. and knows sit and stay, and comes when called. He does need to be watched when going out a door because he can and will sneak right past you. We believe Papi is new to crate training, since he will whine for a bit. He loves to sleep snuggled close, at the foot of the bed, or in a comfy dog bed next to his human's bed. Papi is house trained, but will mark his new environment in the beginning - he will need to have outside potty opportunities often, but does great with a belly band if left too long. Papi loves walks and car rides and does great with the leash and car harness. He is content during thunderstorms or other loud noises such as fireworks. He would benefit from a secure fenced-in yard to run and play in. Papi is heartworm positive but is going through the protocol for slow kill, and will test neg in no time! He can carry on with normal activities like any other dog. Adoption application filled out, References & Home check required Puppies to 6 mo $375. Dogs 6mo - 3yrs under 20lbs $350. Dogs 6mo - 3yrs over 20lbs. $300. Dogs 4yrs to 9yrs $250. Seniors 10+ $100.
