Meet Princess

When at Worcester Animal Control working on other dogs, I unexpectedly met this incredibly sweet dog. There was no way I could leave her behind. The top and bottom center pics are pics from the day I met Princess. Princess is one of the kindest, most gentle, sweet, loving, grateful dogs I have ever met. She is dog friendly and loves people. Princess is now 41 lbs, and the vet estimated her as 5 years old. I think she is a collie mix. Princess has a sad story. She was locked in a basement and severely neglected. She escaped the basement and ran over to a neighbor to play with the neighbor’s dog. The neighbor shocked at her condition immediately called Worcester County Animal Control. Princess was emaciated, almost totally hairless, covered with thousands of fleas, had severe bilateral ear infections and secondary skin infections. AC immediately took her to the vet and began treatment. After 2 weeks of treatment, Princess has improved greatly. Her fur is regrowing, infections are eradicated and she has gained over 4 lbs. Princess has a long way to go before she is ready for adoption, but we thought you would like to meet her and follow her progress. Princess will be gorgeous once she is fully recovered! Her outside will match her beautiful heart! Princess is exceptionally sweet and I am so grateful to be able to help her and also to Worcester Animal Control for taking good care of her. They gave her daily baths and multiple medications for 2 weeks.

Adoption Process
Typically we intake from high kill shelters/animal control and public surrender. Animals are vetted then transferred to Rescue Partners or directly adopted to the public after spay/neuter application and background check/home check. Our adoption fee ranges from $150-350. Animals are required to be indoor only companion animals, if the adoption fails the animal must be returned to KMR.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
