Meet Zena
Meet Zena, a true survivor who has bounced back with gusto. She thinks life is great and that dogs are fun and adults are people to love. She is a year and three months old and weighs 53 pounds which puts her in the medium size range. She is a yellow lab mix, as you can tell from her pics. She has wonderful white accents on her face and legs. Just look at that smile, too. Typical of lab mixes she is a sweet and loving pup. She has ample energy and loves to run and play with the other dogs. She craves human attention, too. Labs are known for their friendliness towards people. They have more than enough affection to go around for the whole family, too. Labs are intelligent and good-natured. They have plenty of energy as pups and usually like to stay active throughout their lives. They make great family companions. As a mix she will probably have a lot of these lab qualities. She gets along fine with other dogs and children. It is not known if she has met a cat.Little is known about her previous training, so she is in the process of learning her house, crate and leash training. Using the right guidance with consistency, repetition, and patience, will help her with the skills she needs to master. Cheerful praise and lots of treats will go a long way in helping her master those skills. She, like most young adult dogs will be a quick learner once routines are established. Daily exercise will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. She may also enjoy going for hikes. Zena will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. It will help prevent boredom. A secure back yard will give her freedom to play and burn off extra energy. She probably would enjoy visits to a local dog park. Get ready for the crowds because Zena is sure to attract a lot of attention. *When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Zena is $500.
