Learn more about this event and sign up for 10am Early Entry  HERE Age: 2 years (as of 3/25/25) Weight: 62 lbs (as of 4/21/25) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Elmer, a young, friendly, and smart companion. His sweet nature and playful spirit are infectious, filling every room with joy. Elmer's intelligence is evident in his quick learning and problem-solving skills. He loves toys, engaging in playful tug-of-war, fetch, and puzzle games that keep his mind sharp. Elmer, however, isn't a fan of feline friends, preferring the company of his own kind or humans. His amiable personality and playful energy make him a wonderful addition to any family. He is a smart boy and basic group training classes is recommended to help him learn commands, socialize with other humans and dogs, as well as build that fur-ever bond with you! Adopting Elmer means welcoming a bundle of love, joy, and playful antics into your life. Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. The dog has responded well to this treatment and is ready for adoption, though may still have some bald patches and/or thin fur in places.  Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies.  Please see here for more information on demodectic mange, and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition.  Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history.
