Tilly is a very happy senior dog who loves to go shopping! She enjoys riding in a purse or a shopping cart and making lots of new friends in stores or during other outings. She is a grand girl who is going to make her forever family very happy. Tilly is uncommonly sweet, despite having come from a difficult background. She was found in July as an unkempt little stray, covered with fleas and with her fur badly matted. She needed multiple dental extractions but has had a very good recovery. Her skin and fur have also bounced back beautifully, too. She has cataracts, but they do not appear to be causing any significant visual impairment, and she engages enthusiastically in all normal dog activities. Right now, Tilly is living in a quiet foster home with an adult female, four cats, two dogs, and a lot of grandchildren who visit regularly. She is quite comfortable being left alone for several hours and will often snuggle with the resident dogs and cats. Although she visually tracks unfamiliar cats and small animals when she is on walks, she loves her indoor cat friends and will eagerly bark and join in with their games of chase. She loves absolutely everyone, from tiny children to large, burly men, and is always looking for a hug. She is working on her leash training and house training, but is making good progress, and will bark to let you know that she needs to go outside. She is calm and quiet in her crate, but  she is very affectionate  and really prefers to spend all of her time with her people. She will follow you everywhere and likes to be picked up and carried around, or to curl up in your lap. She loves companionship so much that she will generally bark to remind you that you have not picked her up yet--and that you really need to do that right away. Tilly adores riding in cars and will sit happily in a car seat to watch the sights go by.  She loves walks, going to the park, and visiting friends--both new and old.  Tilly regularly spends time with a close family relative, who has five dogs and a cat. She enjoys running in the yard, exploring, and greeting the neighbor dogs at the fence. She is currently a rural girl, but she always leaves the chickens alone. She is fun to be around and will bring joy to any household. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see              HERE   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
