Pepper is an adorable husky mix with mostly black and tan markings. Note the beautiful big blue eyes accented by a dark muzzle. She was found abandoned on a dirt road where a kind soul rescued her. She is only 24 weeks and currently weighs 17 pounds. This girl is a bit shy until she feels comfortable but is oh so sweet when she feels safe and then she wants to be your snuggle buddy.Husky mixes are known to be intelligent, playful, and good natured. They are people-loving and tend to be energetic. They need plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom. They would be a good fit for a family that has an active lifestyle and lots of attention to give.Little is known about her previous life but she has done well with other dogs and kids who help out at the shelter. She has not had the opportunity to meet cats yet. Given her young age, all her training is still in progress (house, leash, and crate training), so patience, consistency and routine will be important for her to succeed. She will need time to adapt to new routines and a new home.Pepper will need an owner who has had experience raising puppies, as she will need a lot of time and attention, as well as lots of praise and patience. Daily short walks (under thirty minutes) will be a good opportunity to work on leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. Please note: She may not be a running companion until at least age one when her growth plate closes. Keeping her mind active with activities that provide both physical and mental stimulation will prevent boredom. *When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Pepper is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees.
