Meet Maximus

Maximus is available for adoption. He is 10 years old and weighs 11 lbs. His adoption fee is $450.00. Maximus was born July 22, 2013, and had lived with his human family in Chesapeake for at least the past few years – unsure of his first 7-8 years. Over the past two years Max has had some medical issues, most notably ear polyps (otitis), which seemed to get minimal treatment, leading to other challenges (patella luxation, rear hip hitch, osteoarthritis) which also included peeing in the house. He has been neutered.  Around April 10th 2024, Max’s family brought Max to his Vet Doctor to be euthanized. The doctor declined, then took Max off the family’s hands.  The family signed Max over. Vet Tech Sara took care of Max while SAYR was contacted and marshalled resources to get Max to a foster family.   Maximus has some medical issues like ear polyps, he has allergies and needs a dental badly.  We are taking care of all of Max's medical needs. Maximus is staying with Lynn and Michael in Marlborough, CT.

Adoption Process
We ask for a $25 processing fee. We require people to have a vet history, dog experience, and time to work with a dog.
