Animal Rescue of the Rockies

ARR was formed in 2003 to provide an alternative to shelter environments for homeless dogs and cats. By providing foster homes as a temporary measure until forever homes can be found, our pets are socialized and cared for individually.

ASHER is a 6 month old bundle of joy! At 3 months old, this sweet pup was found emaciated, only 15lbs, in a field on the side of the road. He spent the first few weeks after being rescued snuggling on his foster mom’s lap. Now that he is a healthy 30lbs, he has been well fed, loved on, and acclimated to living in a house.    He enjoys playing with toys, selecting stuffies from the toy box and organizing them around the room.    He can be found lounging on the sofa, playing fetch with balls, or chewing on bones.    The adventure of walks has begun and he is slowing gaining confidence and exploring the world around him.    Although, he is an energetic puppy with a zest for life, he still loves to snuggle!    He will make a great sofa buddy while watching TV. The foster parents are working with him on leash training, socialization and commands. He is crate trained, and sleeps in the kennel at night. Mostly potty trained, he still has a hard time holding it for long periods. This will improve as he gets older.    He can go potty on command and knows the words POTTY and PEE PEE. Additional commands are: LEAVE IT, OFF, WAIT and SIT. He is working on DOWN. (Hopefully very soon!)    He sits and waits for his food until you say OK. He is very curious and intelligent. He listens very well and quickly learns the routine we teach him. For example: he lays on the floor by the tub while foster mom bathes; runs to snuggle in bed with her after her alarm buzzes; sits patiently on the back porch waiting to return indoors.    He will make a great best friend! This beautiful boy is ready for his forever home! He has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccines, DNA tested (49% Labrador, 20% Boxer.), and microchipped. We would require a vet check and a home visit and/or meet and greet. $350 adoption fee.
