Meet Jewel

Jewell, a four-month-old tricolored Parti Standard Poodle puppy, was born on 8/7/23. Currently she is 20 lbs. Jewell and her brothers came to Misfits from a person that had lost their home. (We can’t confirm, but this owner was a possible breeder). Jewell is just such a gem. In her first foster home, at first, she was a bit shy, but she quickly warmed up, and her playful spirit came out. She and her foster buddy took every toy outside to the yard to toss and retrieve them. After her buddy was adopted, she would solo play and did a great job of entertaining herself. Due to the health of one of her first foster’s dogs, we did have to find another foster for her, where she continues to blossom. Jewell is extremely smart and has learned many commands. She has done a good working on potty training, but she is a puppy, so expect to have to continue with her house training. She is familiar with doggy doors. Jewell does experience motion sickness. Medication from the veterinarian has helped her with car sickness. We do require a home with a fenced yard. Ideally, it would be great to place her in a home where she would have a dog companion approximately her size and age. The Poodle is an active, athletic breed that requires both physical activity and mental stimulation (she is definitely not a couch potato). We are looking for a home with owners that are themselves active and will provide her the opportunity to explore her world and to continue with her training. Her adoption fee is $550. She comes up to date on vaccinations and is microchipped and will be spayed.
