Meet Ryder

A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS OUR FIRST STEP TOWARD ANY PLACEMENT.  YOU WILL FINDTHE APP ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org. WITHOUT ALL OF THAT INFORMATION, WE HAVE NO PLACE TO BEGIN A CONVERSATION. For all of you Sheltie lovers, let us introduce you to Ryder.  Ryder is a bi-black, neutered male Sheltie who just celebrated his 2nd birthday earlier this month.  He is 24#, housebroken and a fabulous playmate for another dog of his size.  He has been rehomed because he was a bit much for two older dogs.  I can see that.  He has good energy and loves to play.  In fact, we will NOT place him as an only dog.  He is good with humans but he flies around his yard with a tiny Sheltie that was adopted from us about six months ago.  And the look of pure joy on his face is amazing. Ryder is healthy, happy and ready for his next adventure.  He could be outstanding as a performance dog, perhaps in agility or rally.  His foster mom says he is smart and responsive and that he likes his foster dad almost as much as his foster mom. He does have a bit of an anxiety issue when left alone and would prefer at least one of his humans is around a great deal. He does well on a leash and enjoys going for walks.  In his leisure time (if he has leisure time) Ryder plays with any available toy. Please read all of the requirements for adoption.  A good conversation by phone with the Director, a securely fenced yard, a fabulous reference from your Veterinarian, a home visit...these are the basics for every placement. Each dog has a happy home waiting for them.  It is our job to find that perfect match.
