Animal Rescue of the Rockies

ARR was formed in 2003 to provide an alternative to shelter environments for homeless dogs and cats. By providing foster homes as a temporary measure until forever homes can be found, our pets are socialized and cared for individually.

Meet Violet

Slow introductions are essential to earning winsome 1-year-old Violet’s trust. Once past her initial shyness, this 14-pound “flower” began to bloom in her foster home, revealing how very lovable and sweet she is, climbing onto laps and cuddling, happily waking up and running to say “good morning” to everyone with a constantly wagging tail. After being slowly introduced to her two doggy foster friends, she began playing first with the small one and then with the larger one, making them one dynamic doggy trio! Famous for her frequent zoomies, running laps around the house, Violet loves playing with and grabbing toy after toy, and chasing them around the house as well. She also loves going for walks, walking well on leash, is motivated by food, small soft toys and love, and especially enjoys chicken, duck and rabbit treats, accepting them gently. While she currently knows no commands, she’s eager to please and to learn, is crate trained and at work on her house-training. Now for Violet to truly bloom, she needs particularly patient adopters, perhaps with older dog-savvy children, who will not only win her trust but introduce her slowly to the wide world outside, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her in cuddles fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here. Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email [email protected] for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time.
