Animal Rescue of the Rockies

ARR was formed in 2003 to provide an alternative to shelter environments for homeless dogs and cats. By providing foster homes as a temporary measure until forever homes can be found, our pets are socialized and cared for individually.

Meet Marvin #4

Marveling in the miracle of second chances is 1-year-old Marvin! Supremely sweet at a petit 6.5 pounds, he’s set aside all shyness and has warmed up wonderfully inside his foster home. Happiest around his humans, he thrives on their affection, adores cuddling and snuggling with them, resting his head on them and having his belly rubbed. Then, when he’s not faithfully following after them like a tiny, devoted doggy shadow, he’s curled up comfortably and contentedly on the couch. Can you say cutest couch potato ever? After being properly introduced, Marvin has done exceptionally well with his doggy foster friends: one a bit smaller, one a bit larger and one at 65 pounds, and thoroughly enjoys chasing and running around the yard with the other small dogs. Speaking of yards … sometimes he prances around the yard, which, according to his foster mom, is just incredibly adorable! Fond of soaking up the sun’s welcome warmth, Marvin’s equally fond of going for walks, walking very well on his leash, chewing on bones, and occasionally playing fetch with his toys. Motivated by food and love, he currently knows no commands, sleeps under the covers with his fosters at night, is left uncrated with his small doggy foster friend and is diligently at work on his house-training. Now, what Marvin needs most is an especially loving home with older children, perhaps a small playful dog already there, and patient adopters who will complete his training, including his commands, in return for a fur-ever love like no other.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email [email protected] for more information, as we can't accept calls.
