Meet Tucker

TUCKER – Black Male, 2 years old, 48 lbs. Well hello Labrador Lovers!  Please allow me to introduce myself:  My name is Tucker.  They say I’m around 2 years old.  I am a young adult, which means that I am beyond the puppy phase.  I am a well-mannered gentleman with typical Labrador fascination with all things humans do. I have so much love to give and just want to be by your side.  Why is such a handsome, nearly perfect Labrador without a family and in rescue?  Isn’t that the question of the year!?!  This chapter of my story starts last month, early in April. I somehow ended up at Walmart roaming the parking lot, trying to make sense of things, when a kind, human dynamic duo recognized that I was definitely a lost soul.  They took me in and started searching for someone that was missing me. Their search started right there at Walmart, but no one seemed to know me.  They posted me on several social media and shelter platforms with lost and found threads.  When there was still no reconnection, my dynamic duo contacted Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, and that brings us up to date!  The awesome humans became my foster parents, until I meet you!  They have four canine children of their own, but love me and are committed to matching me with the perfect forever family. My foster family says that I am a great dog.  I know:  sit; stay (needs some improvement); down; leave it; fetch; heel; and wonderful recall when you call my name.  I get excited to play, but I get it when I need to settle down and cuddle.  I love to fetch with my Kong toys, so much that I keep them by my big fluffy bed when I sleep.  I am a smart boy; highly motivated by training with treats.  I have not shown any guarding behaviors with my canine or human foster family pack.  My foster family has not observed me with children, or tried me in a crate, so those things are unknown at this time.  What they do know is that I am house-trained, good with dogs of all sizes, good with cats, and walk nicely on a leash. I am a good boy and sleep in my big fluffy bed (love those fluffy beds).  Since Tucker’s life before rescue is unknown, enrolling in obedience together would establish commands familiar to both of you and become the foundation of your forever bond with him. Tucker will require a secure yard with sound fencing.  If you are interested in Tucker, please visit www.labrescuefresno.org and fill out an online application and a volunteer will forward it to Tucker’s fosters.    If you are interested in adopting through Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, you must first fill out an Adoption Application located at our website www.LabRescueFresno.org All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines including rabies; flea/tick topical drops, heartworm tested and microchipped.
