Breed: Am Pit Bull DOB: 2/2021 Gender: male Altered: no Coat: short Size: x-large Color(s): dark grey / white Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online application. Hi, I'm Riot, an outgoing Pit Bull who is need of a new home as my owners were evicted from their apartment and have not been able to find a permanent place to live. I have lots of love to give and lots of energy to burn. I love to run around and play outside, a home with a backyard would be great. I also walk well on leash, so we can go exploring together. I'm good with both small and large dogs and kids, too, and can be left alone during the day without issues. It's unknown if I'm good with cats. I enjoy getting plenty of attention and pets from my human friends. I can be timid and sometimes scared in new situations. I am house trained and crate trained, and I will bark to go outside. I know basic commands 'sit', 'stay' and 'come' and I know I can learn a lot more. I am now looking for a forever home where I can live out the rest of my days with a loving family. Please fill out an online application to meet me. *Thank you to Sharon for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving him the chance for a better life.
Adoption Process
1. Before making your selection, please consider the following. https://www.pawsandlearn.org/contact After reading, select a dog that interests you and fits your lifestyle. For puppies under 11 months old, children in the home must be at least 6 years old.
2. Everyone in the household needs to spend some time interacting with the dog. If you already have a dog in your household, please bring your dog over to meet the dog you’ve selected. All dogs and people in the home must meet the dog you’ve selected.
3. Fill out an adoption application form (note: filling out an application DOES NOT guarantee an adoption).
4. An Adoption Counselor will review the application. Upon approval of the application, you will be contacted to submit pictures/videos to confirm that the fencing and gates are secure, and the yard is safe for the dog.
5. No dog is ever adopted from the program without a home check.
6. If more than one application is submitted for a given dog, our adoption committee will select the home that is best suited for the dog’s needs.
7. The entire adoption process can take up to one week.
8. The adoption process is concluded when an Adoption Contract is completed and the non-refundable adoption fee is paid.
9. Our non-refundable adoption fees per dog are:
$300 for puppies up to 6 months old
$250 for puppies over 6 months old and under 1 yr old
$225 for dogs 1 yr old and under 8 yrs old
$175 for senior dogs 8 yrs old and up
If you can increase the adoption fee for the dog you are adopting, please do so. Any amount over the adoption fee is tax-deductible. If you cannot, please remember us during the holiday gift giving season and for donations of dog toys, dog beds, blankets and other items all rescue groups need. But most importantly PLEASE remember to tell your friends who FALL IN LOVE with your dog (because they will) to ADOPT, don't breed or buy.
