Mr. Potato Head joins us as a stray, so unfortunately we don't know much about his life before the shelter. Mr. Potato Head is looking for a home where he can showcase all his hats, and noses, ears, mouths, and eyes. We suspect Mr. Potato Head is a mixture of Chihuahua and French Bulldog, or something of the sorts, and is about 2 years old. He is a bit nervous in the shelter setting but warms up quickly to strangers with sweet talking, treats, and respectful handling. He loves to be petted and snuggle in a lap once he has a little time getting to know you. With all of his moving parts, Mr. Potato Head would do well in a home that will provide him time to decompress and a sweet, steady routine. This dogâs adoption fee is reduced to $70 from May 1st to May 15th as part of âEmpty the Sheltersâ, an adoption event hosted by the Bissell Pet Foundation to help pets across the nation find the loving adoptive homes they deserve. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
