Meet Meelo

Meelo is the life of the party! Meelo is about 3-4 months old and is a spunky guy with a zest for anything fun. He is a confident and social pup who loves nothing more than playing with his foster brother and getting love. He brightens up any room he bounces into with his bubbly and carefree personality. Meelo is a growing boy who currently weighs about 6lbs. We estimate he will be around 20lbs when fully grown. Meelo was found after a car accident occurred, and he was brought to a local shelter after his owners couldn't be found. Luckily, he wasn't injured, but his family never came to claim him. We were happy to have him come to us, and he has been loving life in his foster home ever since. Meelo is a fun-loving guy whose ideal family would take him on lots of adventures and make sure his days are full of physical and mental enrichment. He loves to explore and seems like he would be a great running or hiking buddy once he is fully vaccinated. He loves to make new friends and is quick to cover you in kisses when you meet him. He is a smart boy who was quick to pick up the doggie door and would be a great little student for training classes. He is still working on all of his basic manners training, so he will need a family committed to continuing his training to help him be the best boy he can be. Meelo loves other dogs, and his best friend is the young pug in his foster home. They pretty much spend all day wrestling with each other. Meelo is also very respectful of the older small dog in the home, so with proper exercise and playtime with other dogs, he could do well living with an older, less playful dog. Meelo hasn't been around cats, but we think he could do well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction and proper supervision. Meelo could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Meelo has been doing very well with his housetraining, but is still learning and will need a family who can be patient while he is learning and be consistent about taking him outside for potty breaks. Meelo has been doing well sleeping in a pen at night and with his pug buddy during the day. He has never been left alone, so he will need a family who can slowly acclimate him to being home alone. Meelo is such a fantastic little guy, and he can't wait to find his forever home. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Meelo's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website  (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email [email protected]. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org.

Adoption Process
We have an application that needs to be completed. We need to interview all members of the household that are considering adopting the pet. We also need to verify if renting that any rental deposits have been satisfied.
