Meet Safari: Flamingo
Adoption Fee: $700 The Safari Puppies are a litter of 10 week old Pug mixes who were rescued from a hoarding situation. There are 13 puppies in this litter. That’s right. One mom, several suspected dads, and 13 babies. Poor Mama! We saved these pups from a dirty backyard they were living in, covered in fleas and ticks. After several baths and lots of treats, they went off to their foster homes and quickly started soaking up love and kisses. This litter is 9 girls and 4 boys. We will be seeking individual homes for each puppy as we do not place siblings together. We expect the puppies to be in the 10-13 pound range when they reach their adult weights. If you are looking for a Safari trip right from your own house, bring home one of our Safari puppies! Cheetah (F): Cheetah is a confident, adventurous, and smart little gal who loves her people and her playtime. Cheetah is independent and curious but still knows that her humans are the best. She is the leader of her pack and heads our bravely on adventures in the yard, sniffing under bushes and behind trees. Cheetah also loves belly rubs and being held as she naps though, so once her adventuring is done she is ready to be with you! Cheetah is the perfect blend of puppy: one minute she is chasing her siblings around the yard and the next she is snoozing on top of her brother. Cheetah is one of the smartest of the litter as well, picking up cues lightning fast! She is a total love bug who is also adorable to boot, which doesn’t hurt! She loves being held and knows she is a Queen! Don’t let this Cheetah pass you by! Crocodile (F): Crocodile is Miss Independent. We know who runs the world (girls) and Croc shows us that every day! She is the least fussy of her siblings and can entertain herself when her siblings are being crazy. While she will sometimes mosey over for a cuddle, when she is done she’s off again to sniff around the yard. Crocodile would love a home ready for adventures as she can adapt to any surroundings. Beach trips, camping trips, hikes, and parks, she’s up for it all! Crocodile is super smart and food motivated. As soon as the treat bag comes out, she’s laser focused on the incoming reward. Crocodile is also a climber and will show off her skills to anyone who asks. What a love! Flamingo (F): Flamingo is a sweet little girl who loves cuddles and kisses. Her go to pose? Rolling over on her back and asking for endless belly rubs. Unlike some of her brothers and sisters, Flamingo is more likely to watch the action rather than joining in. She is happier to hang out with you on your lap than she is getting her zoomies out. She quickly made herself the favorite of the kids in her foster home as they love her sweet puppy kisses. Flamingo has gorgeous puppy dog eyes that she knows how to utilize to get extra treats when she thinks her siblings aren’t paying attention. While this girl may not be pink in color, she will make you feel tickled pink when you bring her home! Giraffe (F): Giraffe is a snuggle bug who loves a warm lap. Her favorite spot to hang out is the sweatshirt pocket of her foster mama. She will happily roll over onto her belly whenever she thinks it’s time for cuddles, which is all the time according to this gal. Giraffe also loves to play with her siblings and happily zooms around the yard in the sunshine. Giraffe would love a home ready for a lifetime or cuddles and hugs. She is so loving and befriends anyone and everyone she meets. Her personality is very sweet and she gives adorable puppy kisses. She will be a fabulous cuddle couch companion who is also ready to join you on any adventure in the world. Just strap on your treat pouch and away you go! Hippo (F): Hippo is a fluffy little girl with a heart full of love for you! She loves attention from her people and soaks up hours of cuddles. She is the most unique looking of her crew with a teddy bear type coat. It is so hard to stop petting her soft coat. Hippo’s goal in life is finding the best adventures. She loves napping in the sunshine almost as much as she likes playing in her splash pad. She sleeps with her legs adorably up in the air like a dead bug and her tongue flopping out of her mouth. Hippo loves to zoom around the grass, and has discovered a ramp she delights in flinging herself down for nonstop adventure. This girl will be the belle of any watering hole and the Queen of the dog park. Lion (M): Lion is a sweet, gentle, and lazy pup who loves napping more than almost anything. He is the first to fall asleep and the last to wake up. He has started developing such a fun little personality, coming out of his shell and showing us how much he loves cuddles and playtime. He is starting to scramble around the yard and is getting his Pug wiggles on. Lion’s party trick is finding the best nap spots around the house, whether behind a couch or on a lap. He even makes adorable squeaky noises as he drifts off. Lion is also very silly and is still working on his coordination, leading to some goofy tumbles. Lion is just so sweet and we know he can’t wait to be King of his forever home! Mongoose (F): Mongoose is a snuggle bug with the cutest little puppy dog face in the world. When she isn’t curled up in your lap with her head resting on your arm, she is zooming around the yard. But she’s the first to trot back over to her people and ask politely to be picked up and snuggled. Mongoose has hops for a little puppy and loves being at the top of any cuddle pile. She loves soft plush toys and will drag a mini toy around until she finds the perfect nap spot. Mongoose’s current favorite activity is chasing the beams of sunshine around the yard and pouncing on them with excitement, almost like a little cat! You won’t find a sillier gal than our Mongoose! Rhino (M): Rhino is an energetic and playful pup who is in an endless pursuit of making his people laugh! He loves toys and loves finding the best of the sticks to chomp his way through. Rhino is a total foodie who tries to crawl over his siblings in search of the best treats. He is figuring out this “snuggle” thing and has learned that belly rubs are amazing. Rhino is the first to urge his siblings to play with him in the yard, but he isn’t so energetic that he can’t take breaks to stop and smell the roses. Rhino is the textbook puppy: a little rascal who can melt hearts with one blink of his puppy dog eyes. Rhino loves being pampered and has a scratch spot under his chin that makes him absolutely melt into a puppy puddle. This boy promises that life with him will be an endless fun adventure! Warthog (F): Warthog is Little Miss Explorer! She is the first to trot out of the pen in the morning and zooms to the nearest lap for cuddles. Once she’s gotten her fill, she is ready for a day of investigating new things and smelling new smells. She is very confident and smart and loves treats. We know she will be the star of any training class and she will pose for the camera too! Warthog loves toys and will happily chase a toy around with her siblings. She is go go go and then she is asleep for a well-deserved nap. She is everything you think of when you picture the perfect puppy. The puppies start their morning around 6-7 AM with a puppy pile and yawns before they tumble outside to go potty. They come inside for breakfast at 8 AM. Lunch is at 1 PM and dinner is at 7. During the day, the puppies alternate between eating, playing, sleeping, and cuddling. They are typical puppies in that they play until they are so tired they pass out where they are standing (often on top of each other). They get a good blend of inside and outside time, where they are introduced to new experiences to ensure they are well-rounded adults. In the evening, the siblings get some cuddle time with their foster families. They love giving kisses! Around 9 PM, they head to their pen where they snooze the night away. The Safari puppies have been well socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes. They would be fine cohabitating with a cat, as they are basically the size of one. The puppies love people and would adore a loving family who can shower them in treats and kisses. They will need continued training and socialization to ensure they continue learning and growing. We know life will be an adventure with one of these Safari pups! The Safari puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. We do not place siblings together. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.
