Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Tracy Chapman

This dog will be at a meet and greet event on Saturday, April 6th at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express from 12-3pm, unless he/she is set up and adopted prior to the event. Those interested in meeting the dog can come out to our meet and greet event. We no longer do application approval onsite. Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event. Adoption Fee: $850   Tracy Chapman is looking for her ‘Fast Car’ family ready to scoop her up for a life of adventure! Tracy is a 3 month old Pomeranian mix who is just too cute for words! Tracy was surrendered to our rescue with her brother, Phil Collins, after their former home decided they no longer wanted to raise puppies. We promised these two crooners perfect next homes and away they went! We will be seeking individual homes for each puppy.    Tracy Chapman is ready to find her adventure companion who will be her BFFFL! This gal is always up for a game of chase or tag, but also knows when to get her cuddles on and is happy to check out a movie marathon! Tracy is utterly adorable and knows how to work her puppy dog eyes to melt the hearts of all who meet her. Tracy is very smart, and loves to follow her people around as she explores more of the world around her. Tracy is a true bundle of joy who loves toys, her people, kisses, treats, and snuggles. She loves being cuddled and will nestle right into your chest when you hold her. She loves pouncing on leaves fiercely in the yard, having zero clue she is just a tiny gal! Truly, you won’t find a better puppy than Tracy!   The puppies start their morning with a potty trip outside (after some treat based encouragement). Once they finish, they head back inside for breakfast around 7 AM. During the day, when they aren’t working on their next chart-topper, the puppies are playing with toys, chasing each other around, snoozing on top of each other, and getting their daily quota of snuggles! After a noon lunch, the puppies sleep for a few hours before going outside for another potty trip. In the evening, they have dinner around 5 PM before they scamper around the house playing with their toys and chasing the unsuspecting tails of their foster siblings. The puppies go outside for one last potty break before heading to their pen for the night. They snooze the night away dreaming of stardom!  Tracy lives with a 23 pound dog and is doing well on her socialization. She lives with a cat and is learning how to be respectful of her boundaries. Interested homes must demonstrate their plan to continue obedience training and socialization to ensure she grows up into a perfect pup! For any home looking for an amazing (and adorable) forever adventure buddy, you won’t find a better bestie than Tracy!    Tracy is only an option for homes who have owned a dog of their own in the last 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.

Adoption Process
We require an application from anyone who is interested in adopting. Then we require a phone interview, followed by a meeting in person. Then if the animal is a match, we have a contract and our adoption fee which is $400.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
