Bio Redding is a teddy bear come to life! He's snuggly, gentle, and has a great attitude. For anyone husky-curious but dissuaded by friends and relatives who caution that they're totally bonkers: Redding might be the guy for you. As a middle-aged husky, he has many of their characteristics but tamped down to a reasonable level. Some of his favorite activities: - getting attention and pets from his people- goofing around with toys (see videos!)- playing chase esp. with us but also with our other dog- going on walks (he loves to sniff and explore but doesn't pull!)- napping under the desk while we workSome of his challenges: - mild separation anxiety. When we're out he walks from door to door and lets out some mournful howls from time to time, but so far it hasn't escalated to frantic-ness or destructiveness. He has been through a LOT this year and we think that with stability and gradual exposure to separation he'll be just fine. - mild resource guarding. We were advised from a previous foster that he guards toys and his person, so we have been proactively trying to work on and prevent it. He growls when our other dog comes near him while he's playing with a toy, but he doesn't care if the toy is available in the open. He started off trying to block me (his foster mom) from our other dog, but that's already getting much rarer. Overall this issue is mild so far and likely to improve with consistency, but his adopter needs to be willing to work on it and implement and maintain boundaries.
