Adoption Fee: $750Meet Watermelon — 7.8 lbs of Pure Devotion4 Years Old | Poodle–Bichon Mix | Non-Shedding | Tiny & Velcro If you're looking for a dog who loves you deeply, loyally, and with his whole little heart—meet Watermelon. This tiny 7.8-pound sweetheart was shaved down roughly at the shelter, but don’t let the current look fool you: his soft, curly coat is growing back, and in just a couple of months, he’ll be sporting that classic Poodle-Bichon fluff. For now, use your imagination—and focus on what really matters: his loving personality. Watermelon is a gentle snuggler and a constant shadow. He’s the definition of a Velcro dog—never more than a few feet away. He’s eager to play fetch, curl up on your lap, or just perch on the back of the couch to keep an eye on the world (and the birds!). He wakes up around 7am, eats breakfast, and joins you in whatever your day holds—working from home, lounging in the yard, or afternoon strolls. He walks three times a day (morning, afternoon, and evening), and while he pulls a bit on leash, he’s smart and eager to please. At night, he sleeps curled up in his bed—on top of your bed, of course. While Watermelon has lived with other dogs in the past and done well, he’d also be perfectly content as someone’s one and only. He’s versatile and adapts well to his environment—what matters most to him is knowing he’s loved. Would he enjoy tagging along to the office or curling up under your desk while you work from home? Absolutely. But he’s also capable of settling into a routine if you work outside the home. He’s a small dog with a big heart and a flexible spirit—ready to match your pace and bring joy to your life, no matter what it looks like. As a newly neutered male, Watermelon’s foster has found great success using a belly band to help with his transition indoors. He’s shown no signs of house soiling when wearing one and seems to be quickly picking up the routine. He doesn’t chew anything but his toys, isn’t destructive, and absolutely loves cozying into squishy blankets. His one vice? Barking at passersby—he gets a bit overexcited when someone walks by the window, but he quiets once they’re gone. If you love tiny dogs with big hearts, and want a loyal companion to follow you from room to room and cuddle into every blanket with you, Watermelon is your guy. He’s the kind of dog who will change your life—just by being in it.
